The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is teaming with Maine authorities to present senior citizens with information and tools to help protect them against Medicare and Medicaid fraud. Russ Van Arsdale, Executive Director of Northeast CONTACT, will moderate a panel of Medicare and Medicaid experts answering frequently asked fraud questions. Panelists will describe some of the common scams criminals use to obtain personal information, which often leads to identity theft. Event attendees will have an opportunity to engage panelists by asking their own fraud-related questions.

Following the event, volunteers from the Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) will be onsite offering one-on-one counseling to seniors who believe they may have been the victims of fraud.
